Traffic rewards cars that do not pollute
The Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) will soon start sending letters with an environmental badge to owners of non-polluting vehicles, in order to identify them and provide them with measures that favor them. Traffic reports this initiative, which will be carried out for the first time in Spain to identify vehicles with “zero local emissions” registered in the country and classify them according to their polluting potential. One of the advantages for these vehicles will be the possibility of driving in the Bus-VAO lane with a single occupant.

This badge will allow the different municipalities to apply fiscal, parking or traffic management solutions that benefit electric vehicles and will prevent each municipality from issuing any other identifier that is not recognized in other localities. There are already more than 10,000 vehicles considered non-polluting registered in Spain, and from now on, the badge will be issued as soon as a car with these characteristics is registered.
