The DGT puts the number of practical exams suspended due to the examiner strike at 72,000.

In the summer months of 2017, 120,000 practical tests were conducted according to the DGT.
Last year, in the same period, 191,000 were examined.
The general director of Traffic, Gregorio Serrano, has stated that: “Having had an important incidence, not even 72,000 practical tests have been suspended in all Spain”, thus defending that there has not been a total and absolute paralyzation. On the contrary, “not a single theoretical exam” has been suspended, taking into account that 30% of the examiners have not supported the strike.
Finally, he has regretted that, “like all strikes”, it has had an “impact” on citizens. “The DGT and the Government are going to try that from September, if the strike persists, to make compatible the legitimate right of the workers to strike, with the also legitimate right of the citizens not to suffer a prejudice beyond what is reasonable”, he pointed out.
