HOW TO KNOW HOW MANY POINTS YOU HAVE ON YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE?

If you want to know your points balance, here are the steps to check it:

1. Click on the following link that will take you to the DGT website where you will find the section to check your points: https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/tramites-y-multas/permiso-por-puntos/consulta-de-puntos/

2. Once inside you will see 3 options to make your query depending on your case. The most common is not having a digital certificate, so the best option is “Consult Balance of Points (with username and password)”.

3. If this is the first time you are using this service, click on the button “Request password to access the points balance inquiry” to request it.

4. Enter your name and surname, NIF/NIE and the date of issue of your first license (not the renewal date), and an e-mail address where you will receive the password in a few minutes.

5. Once you have the key, go back to the previous screen and by entering your NIF and the access code (password) you will immediately obtain your points balance. The first time you enter, for security reasons, you will have to change this password for the one of your choice.

Keep the definitive password as you will need it every time you want to know your points balance. If you forget it, you can request a new one to be sent to the e-mail address you specify.
