37% of child seats fail the European test

18 - 06 - 2015
Most child car seats do not meet the recommended safety standards.

The RACE, together with the rest of the European car clubs, participates in the European Child Restraint Systems (CRS) Report, in which they analyze the safety, installation, use and comfort of up to 27 child seats.

To improve child safety, the evaluation tests have been tightened up. Of the total number of seats evaluated, 14 were rated “Satisfactory”, 4 were acceptable, and 9 failed the test, of which 7 received the worst score.

Among all the Child Restraint Systems, the following stand out, according to their classification by groups:

  • The Cybex Cloud Q without Isofix base in group 0+.
  • In group 0+ and group I (including the i-Size group from 61 cm to 105 cm), the Bebé Confort Axissfix model stands out.
  • In group II / III the Kidfix SL SCIT by Britax Römer.
  • The Cybex Palas M-fix is the best rated in the Multi-group (I / II / III).
