2,600 drivers detected at the wheel after consuming alcohol or drugs

In the last DGT campaign, 32% of the drivers submitted to the saliva test tested positive in the 1,909 drug tests performed

The most consumed drugs were cocaine and cannabis. In addition, poly-drug use was detected in almost 200 drivers.

Of all the positive tests, 306 drivers were prosecuted for crimes against road safety and sent to the judicial authorities.
